Glock Magazine Generation Differences - If you've spent any time in a gun store, you know that no one knows exactly what that little silver rectangle on the front of the magazine is for. During a recent Glock armor class I made a point of asking the instructor what the exposed metal was all about. Unfortunately he had no idea why the Glock 17 and 19 magazines have the exposed metal window but a quick phone call to Glock's parent company and he was able to answer my question.
It turns out that a limited amount of Glock 17MB and 19MB pistols were produced with the ambi factory magazine release. Here in the states we only saw a very limited edition Glock 21SF with the new ambi magazine release, specifically a rarer picatinny rail model that was only sold for a short time.

With my understanding of how the normal magic release works, I was a bit worried about how the ambi unit works. Fortunately, YouTube user Customchannel made a quick video of him modifying an awkward mag release on his Glock 21SF.

While I like Glocks as much as the next guy, I dig that 21 SF of his. I think I might have to look for one to use as a suppressor host because of how big it is.
